“The image was taken on assignment for Reader’s Digest in the Alto, Michigan farming community. This is of Sophie and her grandfather Paul, a cattle farmer. She and her extended family live and work on the family land. Sophie and Paul’s portrait represent to me the trust and innocence of a little girl and the strength and power of a man. She is looking into the distance with worry and anticipation. The hands seem to be protecting her, guiding her.” ~ Tamara Reynolds.
The image is hanging in The Winners Exhibition December 18th, 2008 – January 17th, 2009 at Calumet Photographic NYC (22 W 22nd Street, between 5th and 6th Aves).
